From Africa to the White House: A Journey in Resistance, Triumph and Spirituals. A musically illustrated talk exploring Africans' resistance to white domination, and their symbolic triumph with Barack Obama’s inauguration. Stories of ancient and modern freedom fighters from the Black diaspora told in words and song. Written and performed by Tayo Aluko, with Michael Conliffe, Piano.

Led by Ali Bangoura from Guinea Conakry, these are two separate workshops: one in West African percussion (11am), another in West African dance (2pm). Ali was a member of Les Ballets Africaine.
