Licensing

The Brighton and Hove City Council website has information regarding all the different licenses which are available for different events - please ensure your event has all the correct licenses it may need: take a look at www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/licensing
Flyer Licensing
In April 2008 a ban on street flyering in Brighton has meant that you need to obtain a license in order to do this. It may be that your venue already has a license to flyer so please check this out. It is free to flyer in the located areas of any Fringe City event.
If you wish to distribute flyers outside of Fringe City you will need a badge. At this point you have three options:
You can apply for a flyer licence through the Fringe for the reduced cost of £25 (usually £100). This will allow you to distribute flyers Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm and anywhere within the zone. Download the application form and send it off to the address on the form, with a cheque payable to 'Brighton and Hove City Council', including the following code on the back of the cheque: ‘CLE011/1G130’
You can approach the venue where you are performing as ask if they have a license and any spare badges that they might be willing to lend you for the day. This arrangement would be between you and the venue and cannot be guaranteed. It would be at the sole discretion of the venue as to whether or not they will lend you a badge.
You can apply for a license, which allow for you to distribute flyers. There is a choice between the Standard License (7am - 7pm) and Premium License (any time).
If you are applying for a flyer license, please download the form from Brighton and Hove City Council.
